Operatic Singing Waiters

“Can I have a business card that was Incredible!”

Sigourney Weaver

The Singing Waiters have performed in over thirty countries, from intimate gatherings to large award ceremonies and society weddings. They take immense pride in handpicking their performers direct from London’s West End, and some of its biggest stars have donned their famous chef’s hat! What sets them apart is their attention to detail in the simple art of storytelling: ensuring that the music, the unforgettable characters, and their fabulous performances will leave your guests cheering for more!!

The Singing Waiters have performed leading roles in West End Musicals such as Valjean & Javert in Les Miserables, Raoul & Phantom in Phantom of the Opera, Miss Trunchbowl In Matilda, Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys, Pumbaa in The Lion King, Nicely Nicely in Guys and Dolls, Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar. They also have a couple of singers who have been awarded Whatson Stage & Olivier Awards for their performances and others who have appeared in Films Such as Les Miserables, Sweeney Todd & Into the Woods

The Scenario:

Their artistes will arrive before any of your guests and set up and liaise with staff at the venue. A soundcheck will take place in private to keep the surprise from your guests. Once your guests arrive, the singers will masquerade as their characters and appear to serve drinks and food with the other staff until the act takes place during an appropriate moment, probably towards the end of the main course of the meal. Everything about the act is about the believability of the singers actually being the characters, this makes for a much bigger impact.

Although they tailor-make the act when required, their typical act consists of a French Head Chef, Italian Head Waiter, and the third character would be a male or female wine waiter or guest. The act would commence when the head waiter introduces the chef from the kitchen on his last night to say a few words to the guests, as is tradition when a senior member of staff is leaving the venue. The emotional chef oversteps the mark with his confession of wanting to be a famous singer and his desire to audition on The X Factor and follows this with him singing his favourite song to your guests. Your guests will not know what has hit them with a mixture of laughter, embarrassment, and astonishment.

Sadly, nerves get the better of him and the Head Waiter is mortified at the event being ruined by an out-of-tune Frenchman. Sending him back into the kitchen to ‘stuff the tarts’, the act starts in earnest with the Italian making it up to the audience with a fine vocal display singing a world-famous aria, the act then really moves into overdrive as the 3 characters vie for the spotlight by topping each other and singing their own arias with the hilarious dialogue sprinkled in for good measure. The culmination of the 3 singers belting out Pavarotti’s favourite ‘Nessun Dorma’ is incredibly emotional. Once the standing ovation has settled, the singers reveal that they are not who they say they are, and for good measure, our last song is designed to have everyone singing, dancing, and waving their napkins along.

They are more than happy to tailor-make the performance to suit you.

Songs normally consist of:

It’s Now or Never (sung badly) La Donna e Mobile O Sole Mio Tonight or I Could Have Danced All Night That’s Amore Nessun Dorma Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You (Encore)

NB: Technically they require a good AV system with surround sound and an experienced engineer and 3 handheld radio mics.

“Hope you guys are OK, working hard and making huge differences to peoples lives. That’s what you’ve certainly done to all of our guests. Thank you for making our signature day special to us all.” Shelley Keeble

“It was truly magical and everyone has written to us raving about our three tenors. The atmosphere of sheer joy and celebration that you created was incredible. Everyone was on their feet singing and clapping which is unusual in rural Northamptonshire! James kicked off our Italian vibe with his wonderful, alluring voice which accompanied the bellinis beautifully so that we all felt that we had been taken to a party in 1950’s Rome. Our gorgeous dancers and tequila girls were unsurprisingly very popular and were so personable to boot! It was your Arias anonymous that stole the show and left us all wanting more. Rupert and I loved every minute of our party knowing that everything had been taken care of and basked in the wonderful smiley faces of our friends.” Belinda Alison

“Not only did you all pull out the stops for us to attend our charity Ball after only landing a few hours previously from Singapore. The performance was flawless, with fantastic singing and fantastic entertainment. Breathtaking!” Lisa Boughton, Gillian Kenny Associates
